Dentures (Full And Partial)

Dentures (Full And Partial)

A denture is a removable dental device used as a replacement for missing teeth and the surrounding tissue. Dentures can be full or partial, and are made to closely resemble your natural teeth. We normally use complete or full dentures when all of the teeth in either your upper or lower arch are missing. Partial dentures are used when you have some natural teeth left. They will fill in the spaces created by the missing teeth and also prevent your natural teeth from shifting.

We recommend immediate dentures to our patients who are having teeth removed so that you won’t have to go without teeth. We make such dentures in advance and place them immediately after removing your teeth. We will also make frequent adjustments within a 3-month period as your gum tissue shrinks until the healing process is complete.

At Swan Dental, we offer regular and implanted dentures. Implanted dentures provide added stability, so you don’t need to worry about them falling out. Speech is also improved over traditional dentures, as you are not relying on suction to hold them in place. Don’t forget the ability to eat more foods that could normally be difficult with traditional dentures!

Why Dentures (Full And Partial)?

Dentures will restore your once perfect smile by replacing the missing teeth. Full dentures will remedy the loss of all teeth in an arch while partial dentures will replace the missing teeth in an arch. This will not only help improve your smile, but will enhance your facial composition. They will also help improve your speech, chewing and digestion.

The process involves several appointments over several weeks. This is because we have to make highly-accurate impressions or molds and also take measurements to create your custom dentures. At times, we may also call you in for “try-out” appointments to ensure proper fit, shape and colour. During the final appointment, we will adjust and then place the finished denture, making sure that it fits naturally and comfortably.

Increased flow of saliva, speech and chewing difficulty and soreness are some possible side effects that you may experience after undergoing such a dental procedure. They are however not permanent and will subside once your muscles and tissues get used to the new dentures. Apart from the regular visits you will make to our dental clinic, we will also give you care instructions for your new dentures. This is because proper cleaning and good oral hygiene will make your new dentures last for years to come.

Swan Dental will work with you to find the best solution to provide you with comfort, confidence, and a radiant smile!
